Editorial Policy

Independence

Brands cannot pay to be included in, or to change, our recommendations. Affiliate commissions never decide what we recommend or how we rank it.

Researched vs hands-on tested

• Researched means we compiled the profile from manufacturer documentation, published specifications, manuals and other cited sources. We have not used the product ourselves.
• Hands-on tested is used only when we have used the equipment ourselves. Those pages describe what we tested and for how long.

Specifications and prices

We only publish specifications we can verify, and we record the date we last checked them. We do not publish retailer prices, because they change frequently; use the retailer link to see the current price.

Ratings and reviews

We don't copy retailer star ratings or customer reviews, and we don't publish testimonials we can't verify.
